The Root Beer Run is open to all people from throughout the community who want to be active in our parks and who enjoy root beer with or without ice cream. Participants choose to run, walk, or stroll either a 1⁄2 mile or full mile and then receive root beer after they cross the finish line. 100% of all registration fees are donated to People for Parks, a Minneapolis nonprofit that sponsors programs and projects to enhance and promote our city’s parks.
Yes, we know this event is on Mother’s Day and we can’t think of a more fun or healthier way to spend time with your family! Think of it as the alternative to brunch where you get to be outside and active! There will be a fabulous bounce house, lots of games and even more swag giveaways from our partners.

Rolling hills, mature trees, and abundant wildlife provide the scenic backdrop for this challenging, yet approachable 18-hole course. The front nine, or the Queen’s Nine, was designed by Annika Sorenstam, and the back nine, known as the King’s Nine, was designed by Arnold Palmer. Take a Monday off from work and hit the greens in support of the local autism community!
